Break-Ins

Posted on: 3rd February 2018

Dear Villagers

Two matters to report…

1. Raid at the shop.

As you may have heard, at 3.17 last Saturday 27th January, a man in a hoodie went into the Corhampton Stores, grabbed £250 from the till, and ran out up Allens Lane, presumably to a car parked there or in Rectory Lane.

There had been an identical theft in the morning in Gosport and the police are pretty convinced it’s the same man. The car in the Gosport incident might have been a silver Vauxhall.

Did anyone see anything suspicious in Allens Lane or Rectory Lane around that time? Or has anyone any CCTV footage that the man might have been captured on?

If you think you can help, please contact Nell at the stores.

2. Animals stolen.

Some animals have been stolen from a field in Long Lane, Soberton. It happened last Sunday or Monday.

If anyone hears of any of these being sold, or has information at all, the police would like to hear from you on the number 101 number, quoting 44180038042.  Or you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

And of course, it’s another reminder to keep ones own animals as secure as possible while thieves like this are about.

The animals stolen were:

• Two brown/black gelded donkeys
• Six black and white pigmy goats (three male, three female)
• Six ferrets – two polecat and four albino (three male, three female)

You can see pictures of them at:
