Dear NW Members,
I’ve been informed that Hampshire Trading Standards have a supply of door stickers that have the aim of deterring door-step sellers.  Members will recall that in early August I emailed everyone regarding “Nottingham Knockers” visiting Exton.  At the time I attached Thames Valley police information regarding the sellers whose basic objective is to determine which properties are suitable for breaking in to, and then sell on that information.  The Thames Valley Police attachment explains everything, and if anyone has not received it I can forward it.
It has long been a policy of the police, and NW, to do everything possible to deter them.  Ian Gilchrist had been trying to obtain a supply of door stickers for some time, and now at last some have been made available, thanks to his and Hampshire & IOW NW efforts.
If anyone would like a sticker, would they please let me know and I will arrange for them to be delivered to you.  The displaying of a sticker is not a guarantee that its message would be heeded, as was seen to be the case in Exton, but en masse they could well deter.
I attach an image of the 15cm x 10cm stickers.  I understand that on the property-facing side there is advice on how to deal politely with the seller.
