Peter Riley ( (BCC) + 1 more Details

Dear all,

Here’s another vehicle to keep your eyes out for and report as before – old red Mercedes with foreign number plates.

That’s assuming that it still has foreign number plates.  The reason that the police didn’t provide details of the number plate of the Silver BMW was, as no doubt everyone guessed, because the occupants had been using stolen plates.
Regarding the silver BMW, it was spotted in Meonstoke recently with the driver engaged in petty theft.  That has been reported to the police along with a useful description of the driver.

PeterNeighbourhood Watch

Dear Residents

Over the last couple of days we have been focusing our efforts on a vehicle of interest in the Winchester Rural area which we believe is related to vehicle crime locally. The vehicle of interest is an older style silver series 3 BMW saloon Car.

If the vehicle is sighted please report this via 101 or 999 and not via social media as we will be unable to respond to your concerns accordingly.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind people about vehicle security and offer advice on how to ensure they keep their property as safe as possible;

  • When leaving your car, close all windows and lock your car.
  • Upon locking your vehicle try your car door to ensure it is actually locked.
  • Park your car in an attended car park.
  • When parking at home, use your garage. If you don’t have a garage, park in a well-lit area.
  • Don’t leave anything on display in your vehicle.
  • Take all your personal possessions with you and do not leave any valuable items in your vehicle.
  • Remove sat-nav holders and visible sat-nav ring marks from windscreens.
  • Leave the glove box open to show there’s nothing inside.
  • Fit an alarm or immobiliser to your car.
  • Record the details of your property on the Immobilise website.
  • Do not store your car’s documents in the car.
  • Secure your wheels using locking wheel nuts.
  • Items such as motion sensor dash cams can also be used as video evidence should your vehicle be targetted.

Hopefully the above advice will be useful and help remind you of how to keep your property safe. Should there be any incidents that you wish to make us aware, please reports these on 101 or online through the Hampshire Constabulary website –

If you have witnessed an offence but would like to stay anonymous, this can be reported through Crimestoppers –

Kind Regards

PCSO 15822 Griffiths
