I have rescinded the condition not to use hosepipes after a conversation with Chrissy and Phil Butler on behalf of all of you. The condition will now be amended to say that it is permitted to use a hosepipe but must not be left on the allotments, they must be taken there on a day to day basis. (I would suggest that you all use the lightweight curly ones which can be obtained cheaper from Amazon). Remember that you are paying for the water used equally between you.
Please be aware that it is necessary to keep your allotment neat and tidy and free from weeds, otherwise they seed and are blown across other peoples allotments.
The water has been turned back on, but the middle tap is stil not working properly, and will be sorted soon.
We were successful in obtaining a grant from Winchester City Council to help with the cost of installing the water supply on the Allotments. Thank you to Winchester City Council.
We have the opportunity to get free Manure from Prospect Cottage, Stocks Lane. You will need a bag to shovel it into and to take to your Allotment, it is well rotted!
Please be aware
If you use the taps which I don’t think you will need to now, but if you do please ensure that you drain the taps off so that we don’t get anymore frozen pipes as it is costly to get repaired.
Taken this morning 17 June 2017. They look fantastic. Well done!
We now have another load of chippings to be distributed around the paths where we had previously run out.
We urgently need some help as we have been donated two lorry loads of wood chippings and one load has already been delivered on the green where the bags of soil were, this is to put on the paths about 4 inches thick. Many thanks.
Appears to have been repaired. I couldn’t see any water leaking out and I have turned the tap on and it’s was OK.
Please be aware that the tap by Plot No 9 is out of order, it has a large slit in the pipe which is frost damage as the contractors for Portsmouth Water have confirmed and hopefully will be repaired on Monday.
Public Liability Insurance
You are covered by the PC public liability insurance ONLY if you injure yourself on the pathways, NOT if you injure yourself on your Allotment, your home insurance MAY cover you for a minimal fee if you want that cover.
If when you go to your Allotment and you take young children with you, please ensure they do not go on other Allotment holders plots. Thank you for your cooperation.
Minutes of meeting on 1 March 2017
The Allotments are ready to start
Allotment holders can now make a start at last, I wish you all the very best and enjoy the results. As you are aware there is still a bit to be done and hopefully will not hinder anyone from getting on. Good Luck to you all. The plots have all been numbered and there is two 1ton bags of topsoil for each plot which have corresponding numbers.

A meeting to allocate allotments to all those who are interested will be held on Wednesday 1st March at 19:30 in the Crypt at the Meon Hall. The raised beds are now in and topsoil is being delivered on Tuesday 28th February. So we should be ready to go. I know it has been a long time coming but hope you will all enjoy getting started.

The recently updated list of people requiring allotments have all been successful and there is one allotment spare.
