TIER 2 – A REMINDER

Last week the Government updated us on its COVID-19 Winter Plan, which is replacing the current national restrictions from tomorrow (2 December) and will see us through to Spring 2021.The Winchester district will fall within Tier 2, this means:

LEISURE CENTRES OPEN TOMORROW

We’ve been given the green light to reopen our leisure centres, so from 6am tomorrow the doors to River Park and Meadowside will be open! Our operator, Everyone Active, will be working hard to make sure customers stay safe during their visit and look forward to welcoming you back. Everyone Active will be in contact with members to keep you updated on activities and opening times and all members and non-members will need to book sessions in advance using the app or by visiting the website.

Everyone Active has created a summary showing activities that are allowed and those which are not below (although please note that all the listed activities may not be routinely available at our centres)…

VISIT SAFE – AND MAYBE SHOP A LITTLE LATER?

As of tomorrow, all non-essential retailers will be able to reopen and your council is working to support businesses who want to extend their opening hours (Monday-Saturday) in the lead up to Christmas and into January. There’ll also be ambassadors on hand to provide advice and guidance to shoppers and retailers to help everyone to enjoy the festive period safely.

You will be able to spot ambassadors by their hi-vis jackets across the district so be sure to say hello or ask for assistance – they’re here to help!

NEW MARKET TRADING TIMES

A heads up - from tomorrow the Winchester Street Market will be a regular feature on Lower High Street and Middle Brook Street! Find out more here. Don’t forget, we all still need to follow social distancing guidelines…

PARK & RIDE - EXTENDED CHRISTMAS SERVICE

Are you coming into the city to do your Christmas Shopping? An extended Christmas Park & Ride Service will run from 3 December to 24 December 2020.
